Langley B.C., Canada - Knelson has completed a 15,000ftІ (1400mІ) plant expansion at their Langley B.C. corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. The expansion increased total plant, office and research laboratory space to an excess of 35,000ftІ (3200mІ).
Justification for the expansion was driven by strong demand for existing Knelson products in addition to two new products the company plans to launch during the year. This includes a new line of patented continuous variable-discharge (CVD) concentrators.
The new facility includes:
an expanded fabrication area serviced by two overhead cranes with lifting capacities of up to 15 tons (13.6 tonnes)
the under-the-hook height of 25ft (7.6m) will accomodate much larger custom fabrication projects
a greatly expanded Linatex installation shop to handle the increased production flow
state-of-the-art sandblast facility with media recycling system to greatly reduce material handling and health and safety concerns
large hard-surfaced outside storage area serviced by overhead cranes
a new engineering wing which will accomodate rapidly expanding engineering and design staff
"I found your story to be very interesting, with the contest concept that is unique. I have run concentrators and find them to be a necessary part of recovery."
- Bryce Schellenberg, Mill Operator - North American Palladium, Canada
