Newmont Canada Orders ACACIA Reactor

Back to WHAT'S NEW

December 10th, 2001
An Acacia Reactor installed at the Union Reefs Gold Mine in Australia.

HEMLO, Ontario - Knelson is pleased to announce that Newmont Canada Ltd. has placed an order for the first ConSep ACACIA Reactor destined for the North American market. It will be installed at the Golden Giant Mine located in the Hemlo district of Ontario.

The system was developed at the Union Reefs Gold Mine in Australia and was specifically designed to process the highly enriched concentrates produced by Knelson Concentrators. At the Golden Giant Mine the Acacia Reactor will process concentrates from the two existing Knelson Concentrators and will replace a conventional tabling circuit.

"We are delighted to learn that Knelson has won this order" said Grant Steward; Managing Director of ConSep Pty. who are the manufacturing licensee for the Acacia Reactor worldwide. ConSep appointed Knelson as the ACACIA Reactor marketing representative for N. America in July of this year.

"I feel that we won this order based on the technical merit of our proposal and the performance of the pilot plant which gave outstanding results" commented Mike Fullam, Senior Sales Engineer at Knelson.

The ConSep ACACIA system will be partially manufactured by ConSep in Australia and by Knelson in Canada. With delivery scheduled for March 2002, the system will be fully operational by April 2002.
